  • How to pray the rosary?

The rosary is a prayer item, often presented as a string of beads. It is made up of five groups called "decades", each consisting of ten beads, separated by a single bead. Before the central section, often decorated with a medal representing the Virgin Mary, a saint, or a religious symbol, there is a cross followed by five beads.

These beads guide the recitation of the "Hail Mary" prayer. The rosary begins with the Sign of the Cross, followed by the Apostles’ Creed ("I believe in God"), one “Our Father,” three "Hail Marys", and one "Glory Be."

Each decade then includes one "Our Father", ten "Hail Marys", and one "Glory Be". Each set of prayers is accompanied by meditation on a mystery from the life of Christ, grouped into four categories: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous Mysteries.
