The mosaic of Christ in glory, inaugurated in 1923, is one of the largest mosaics in the world, covering the chancel and created by Olivier Merson, H. M. Magne, and R. Martin. It represents the resurrected Christ, dressed in white, arms wide open, revealing a golden heart. On each side, on two rows under golden arches, the tribute of the Church (on the left) and France (on the right) to the Sacred Heart.
